Cutting machine operator apprentice, milling (m/f/d)
Cutting machine operator is a 3 1/2-year recognised training profession. You produce precision components from different materials through cutting processes such as turning, milling or grinding. As a cutting machine operator, you are directly involved with the planning, production and machining of components. You also operate and monitor conventional and computer-controlled machine tools such as lathe systems, milling machine systems, automatic lathe systems, grinding machine systems and drilling machines.
The apprenticeship encompasses areas which include the following:
- Selection of the correct materials
- CNC machine tool programming
- Correct clamping of workpieces and starting of machine operation
- Identifying faults in production and quality deficiencies
- Documenting of your work and your results
Training content
1st - 2nd training year
- Operational and technical communication
- Assessment of work results, plans and organising of equipment
- Identifying and allocating materials/auxiliary materials
- Production of components and assemblies
- Set-up of machine tools and production systems
- Maintenance of equipment
3rd training year
- Programming of numerically controlled machine tools or production systems
4th training year
- Business processes and quality assurance systems
Requirements
- Very good lower secondary education certificate or good medium-level secondary education certificate
- Good spatial perception and mathematical comprehension
- Willingness to work with computers and high-tech equipment
- Manual dexterity
